Leadership within today’s organizations is much more than setting goals and measuring results. Strong HR professionals create a culture where people are inspired to do their best work. This discussion overviews the power Emotional Intelligence can provide to organizational leaders.  Practical examples and group discussion will clarify how human traits can be employed to create a neural GPS for 21st century HR Managers.

Come prepared to discuss the following:

    • What organizational leader has had the most positive influence on your life?

    • What three characteristics best describes this person?

    • Reflect on a complex decision you made in the last 30 days that affected your organizational team.

    • Reflect on how you handled the decision process and interactions with your colleagues as you managed “up”, “down”, and “laterally”.

    • Reflect on 2-3 instances when you went along with a team decision, even though you did not agree. What influenced your decision?

    • Reflect on 2-3 instances when you disagreed with a group decision and held firm. What influenced your decision?

    • Does your group collaboration and decision-making criteria differ between your professional and personal environments?
