    • Ensuring relationship can handle the most challenging conversations
    • Trust – key ingredient, critical success factor
    • Active Listening – are you a good listener, if you are going to ask the tough questions
    • Being comfortable being uncomfortable – establishing ground rules
    • Standing up for equity, fairness and standing against racism, injustice – calling people out, holding people accountable

    Biography:

    Mauricio Velásquez, MBA, is the President of The Diversity Training Group (DTG) in Herndon, VA.  Mauricio serves as a diversity strategy consultant, diversity trainer, sexual harassment prevention trainer, executive coach, mentoring trainer, expert witness, and assists organizations with toxic employees, toxic workplaces, and coaching.

    So much of my work is about seeking out and having the difficult conversations – in a workshop, during a coaching session.

    DTG’s clients include organizations from small to large, for-profit to not-for-profit, law enforcement, healthcare – you name it, we are working inside that industry.  Major League Soccer, Caresource, NIST, Leaseweb, MBP, Architect of the Capitol, Vetsource, are some of our clients.

    Mauricio earned a BA in Economics and Psychology from the University of Virginia, and an MBA in Human Resource Management from The George Washington University.  Mauricio and his team have trained in every state, but North Dakota and life and work have taken him to more than 70 countries.  Mauricio is married to Kelly and has three great kids.
