    Speaker's Biography:

    The Founder of Extensio Law, Misti Mukherjee represents employers in a wide range of issues related to employment law.  As a former Chief People Officer, General Counsel and Executive Vice President and with decades in private practice, Misti’s 28 years of employment law experience integrates a practical, value-oriented approach. 

    Misti is consistently recognized for her excellent work.  She has twice been named one of the “Top 25 Women Attorneys” in Virginia by Richmond Magazine and she was listed as one of the “50 Influential Women of Virginia” by Virginia Lawyer’s Media. Misti has repeatedly been selected to be included in the Best Lawyers in America© for Employment Law, Virginia’s Labor and Employment “Legal Elite” (Virginia Business magazine) and Virginia and Washington DC “Super Lawyers®” for Employment and Labor Law (Law and Politics magazine).  

    Misti is a Trustee on the governing board of Anne Arundel Health System, where she serves as Chairman of the Audit and Compliance Committee.  She is a past Chairman of the Board of Northern Virginia Family Service.  Misti is the Co-Chair of the Advisory Board of the CARE (Companies as Responsive Employer) Awards.  She co-founded Executive Women’s Roundtable, Inc. and she served for several years as President of HR Leadership Forum.  Dedicated to the advancement of education, Misti has been a Trustee of The Madeira School and an Advisory Board member of Marymount University Reston Campus.  The Fairfax Law Foundation commended Misti’s exceptional commitment to her community by awarding her the “Golden Gavel” award.  

    After graduating from the Plan II Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin, Misti received her law degree from the University of Texas.  Prior to forming Extensio Law, Misti served as the General Counsel and interim Chief People Officer of Towne Park, LLC, a  company with 14,000 employees nationwide.  She has practiced employment law as a shareholder with Jackson Lewis, PC and Odin, Feldman and Pittleman, PC.  Misti served as Associate Employment Counsel at MCI Communications Corporation and she began her career as an associate in the employment law practice of Hunton & Williams (now Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP).    

    Misti is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
