Summary:
The HR Generalist must have detailed knowledge of human resources practices and principles in the federal government contracting arena. He/she will perform numerous functions related to Human Resources, such as new hire onboarding, benefits administration, payroll interface, and compensation.
The HR Generalist must have ability to exercise solid judgment when determining when to elevate employee relations issues to the HR Director. HR Generalist must be detail-oriented and accurate in all functions.

- Provide expertise in HR functional areas.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and other staff departments.
- Responsible for on-boarding new employees.
- Resolves employee benefits issues and questions.
- Maintains HR processes related to hiring, transfers, promotions, and terminations/resignations.
- Conducts e-Verify on new hires.
- Processes I-9’s of new employees.
- Responsible for addressing unemployment claims in a timely manner.
- Maintains records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
- Manages and maintains compliance of personnel files and electronic record keeping.
- Customizes and enhance reports and data for management, as needed.
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred.
- Three to five years of directly-related experience as an HR Generalist.
- Experience working with SCA employees in a unionized environment preferred.
Computer Skills:
Must have advanced knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
Costpoint, Taleo experience is desired.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
- PHR/SPHR desired
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance.
