    Description:

    Serves as a team member in the oversight and development of the county's Workforce Wellness Program for General County and Public Safety employees and retirees. Facilitates wellness programs that educate and influence employees at the worksite to lead healthy lifestyles.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Assists in the development, implementation, management, and analysis of a countywide health promotion and wellness program that encourages participation and maximizes existing county and healthcare vendors resources. Researches wellness industry trends to identify potential programs and vendors. Assists in the development and implementation of intervention programs that positively impact employee/employer cost for health care, disability, and sick leave programs and promotes employee satisfaction. Routinely measures success of programs and refines all aspects of wellness programs based on outcomes. Prepares quarterly participation analysis and return on investment summaries. Conducts periodic participation satisfaction surveys. Establishes baseline data and performs critical analyses to understand impacts of wellness initiatives with respect to the performance of the program as well as its cost impact on established county medical, leave, and disability plans. Assists in the development and maintenance of ongoing multimedia communications campaigns; delivers in-service training, seminars, special programs and activities and presentations. Partners with Benefits Team to review medical claims data and other utilization reports to identify heath and absence trends in the employee and retiree population. Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and external experts in employee wellness; collaborates with program managers and principals or their designees to establish worksite wellness activities. Coordinates wellness activities with LiveWell Ambassadors, Parks and Public Safety Wellness Coordinators and employee groups; coordinates county activities with other divisions and outside agencies.

    Requirements:

    Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in personnel administration, public administration, or a related field.

    NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Job is generally sedentary with occasional on-site visits to other county locations for running programs. Visual acuity is required to read data on computer monitors. Must be able to communicate with others. Employee may be required to lift up to 15 pounds.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's degree in health education, health promotion or related field, preferred. (For example: bachelor of science in community health, exercise science or public health; master of science in public health, nutrition or exercise science and wellness.) Minimum of two to three years of experience in health and wellness field. Must have the ability to administer multiple complex tasks simultaneously in a high volume environment. Must demonstrate effective organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels. Excellent communication skills including strong oral, written and presentation skills. Ability to coordinate and provide direction to vendors, third-party administrators and volunteers. Successful project management skills. Demonstrated ability to function autonomously and perform effectively within a complex, fast-paced environment; to model high-initiative and professional behavior. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint. Strong commitment to customer service excellence.

    SELECTION PROCEDURE:
