Some business executives view HR as a transactional business function that doesn’t provide much value to the organization. They view HR as a cost-center and continually look for ways to reduce HR’s budget and personnel. Strengthening your ability to influence your partners and your team is a great first step to demonstrating the value your team can provide.
Come prepared to discuss the following:
-
Tips for planning an influence campaign
-
Ways to get your team committed to become better partners
-
Ideas for bridging communication gaps
-
Traps to avoid as an advisor to your organization
Our facilitator for this discussion is Gus Lawson.
Prior to founding Lawson Advisors, LLC, Gus has helped federal government clients develop their leadership and workforce, align their organizations, and implement change initiatives. Most notably, he helped a senior executive drive change by creating alignment amongst his leadership team, developing and implementing tools to monitor change initiatives, and considering internal and customer interests before restructuring.
He is a certified executive coach and has earned certification as a change management advanced practitioner from Georgetown University. He attained his Masters in Business Administration from George Mason University and his Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology.
He has fond memories of his naval service where he enjoyed mentoring sailors and leading his teams to safely operate and maintain various shipboard engineering systems.
