It’s not about the Pancakes: Recognizing and Managing Resistance to Change
Recognizing employee resistance to change and managing it appropriately is critical to any successful change initiative. In this session participants will evaluate their own resistance to change, learn to recognize resistance to change behavior, and develop strategies for effectively managing resistance to change.
After this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate their own level of resistance to change
- Recognize resistance to change behavior in the workplace
- List 10 tips for dealing with change
Speaker Bio: Kathleen Dunn is an experienced training, performance, and HR professional with significant expertise in talent management, organizational development and change, strategic planning and experiential learning.
Recognized as a thought leader, team leader, and collaborator with a passion for teaching and team building, Ms. Dunn’s expertise includes human resources, coaching and mentoring, leadership development, public speaking and communications skills, and directing organizational change.
Before launching her consulting business, Kathleen Dunn spent 8 years as the Director of Learning and Professional Development at a major Washington, DC law firm where she directed strategic activities for attorney and staff professional development, talent management, and leadership development. Her workshops include public speaking and presentation skills, change management, performance management, and human resources development and training.
Kathleen Dunn is also on the faculty (adjunct) of The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC where she teaches Human Resources Development and Training, Leadership Development and Performance Management, Communications Skills, and Organizational Development and Change at CUA’s Metropolitan School of Professional Studies.
Ms. Dunn has an MBA in Economics and an MS OD from Trinity University. She has earned the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance® credential (CPLP®) from ATD CI (the Association for Talent Development Certification Institute), which identifies her as a top performer in Learning and Development and is a certified MBTI Master Practitioner, an EQ-i 2.0 practitioner and a certified coach.
