    The 2021 Dulles SHRM October Discussion Group session is being held on Thursday, October 7th, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.  The topic is “HR Throw Me a Lifeline - Training, Tracking and Compliance”.

    Our guest speaker is Sue Stinson, a seasoned leadership and employee development professional. For this session, Sue will focus the conversation on the importance of employee training and tracking for HR, health, and safety compliance.

    In this interactive session you will learn about: 

    • Examples of successful companies who invest in training for compliance
    • Examples of the consequences of not adequately training employees  
    • Strategies for engaging employees to embrace and demand appropriate training
    • Strategies for converting skeptical CEO suite members to understand WHY it’s important to conduct training, and track employee completions with current recordkeeping

    • Sue Stinson, Director of Business Development, Motive Learning in Brevard County, Melbourne, Florida.   sue@motivelearning.com; (o) 321-453-8133.
    • Biography:

    Sue has over 20 years of experience in education and training, including 15 years public university continuing professional education, assisting government and private sector organizations to achieve employee and project-based performance goals. She enjoys helping clients and their leadership identify and build desired competencies, behaviors, and strategies to meet individual, group, and organizational needs.

    Sue earned a Master of Science in Organizational Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University’s Schar School of Public Policy in Fairfax, Virginia. After living 25 years in Northern Virginia, Sue relocated to Florida’s Space Coast in June 2020, to accept the position of Director of Business Development for Motive Learning. Motive Learning is a woman-owned small business begun in 2006 specializing in e-learning solutions designed to serve the aviation and aerospace communities’ unique safety training and compliance needs.

    She and her fiancé Jon live in Melbourne, FL and can easily view SpaceX and United Launch Alliance rocket launches from the backyard, at all hours of the day and night, including an occasional sonic boom and rattling windows.
