Today’s EAP programs are not “your grandmother’s EAP”; taking a fresh look at what EAPs are offering in addition to the traditional counseling option. We will discuss how to develop a strategic partnership with your EAP to mitigate behavioral risk and improve employee engagement, satisfaction and retention. This meeting has been approved for 1 SHRM credit and 1 HRCI Business credit.
Participants will:
1) Develop awareness of the spectrum of services currently offered, and what’s on the horizon;
2) Learn effective program promotion strategies
About the speaker:
Melissa Back Tamburo, PhD, LCSW has over 30 years of leadership, academic, clinical, and account management experience in the field of employee assistance and work/life programs. She currently serves as the Director of Sentara EAP, a Virginia-based EAP that serves over 326,000 members.
Melissa has a broad range of expertise including conducting quality analyses, demonstrating outcomes, network development, sales and providing clinical services to individuals and groups. Her recent research includes examination of clinical outcomes in EAP and Work/Life programs, program success demonstrating positive impact on absenteeism and presenteeism in the workplace, and impact of management consultations.
Dr. Tamburo holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree and Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland. She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and maintains a small private practice.
