HR Managers, many whom are officers of the corporation, face significant liability that they never knew was lurking.  What makes this worse is that this is PERSONAL LIABILITY and not necessarily something that the corporation is aware of....or....insured for.   My presentation is designed to inform HR Professionals of corporate and personal risk that is never discussed, planned for or mitigated.  I would like to enlighten your membership of the risk and offer prevention methods and techniques to limit their personal and corporate liability.

Phillip (Phil) Galbraith is a long tenured insurance professional with 38 years of experience in the field of commercial Insurance.  He is the owner of Capitol Risk Solutions, an insurance agency located in Rockville, Maryland.

He began his career as a small business underwriter in Phoenix, Arizona in1987.  This was back in the days of fax machines and carbon paper.  However, his office did not actually receive its first fax machine until the following year!

Phil has worked for three different insurance companies, the world’s second largest insurance brokerage firm and a couple of smaller insurance agencies over the years.

In 2010, he started Capitol Risk Solutions to provide a more personalized approach to business insurance.

Phil likes to present himself as more of an insurance technician and not so much a sales person.  Being labeled an “insurance geek” is a point of pride.

Much has changed over his career span.  Long gone are the days of fax machines and carbon paper.  However, so , too, are the protections of working for a corporation where a shield against personal liability was a given.

One area of specialization for Phil is Directors & Officers Liability and how such claims can pop up out of nowhere.  They are complicated, expensive and all too often, misunderstood.

Life is risky.  Business is risky.  However, Phil believes that you should understand your risk and have the opportunity to mitigate it where possible.
